Sheikh Mofid is one of the prominent and outstanding Shiite scholars in the fourth century AH. Due to the theological nature of most of his works, he is more considered a theologian, and his interpretive views have received less attention. The whole interpretation of the Quran by Sheikh Mofid is not available, but among some of his works, his interpretive principles and views can be accessed. In order to have a correct analysis of Sheikh Mofid's interpretive and theological theories, it is necessary to, first, mention his principles in the interpretation of the Quran. One of the important principles among his emanative principles is the sanctity of the words of the Quran. This article examines the sanctity of the words of the Quran in the works of Sheikh Mofid. The results reveal that, from the perspective of Sheikh Mofid, the sanctity of the words of the Quran is an indisputable issue, and it concerns the whole Quran. The sanctity of the words of the Quran is accompanied by the soundness of the text, as well as its wisdom. The present article offers an analysis of their concomitance from the viewpoint of Sheikh Mofid.
